A Glimpse into my Human Experience

Part of the Story

The Creator

Who am I in this lifetime?

It's just us so let's not bother with the third person.

My name is Mo O'Laughlin. I am a 24 year old non-binary creative being, born and raised in Minnesota. I find inspiration wherever my feet land; most recently my creative drive has whisked me to France.

I find joy in wonderfully contrasting mediums: charcoal drawing and acrylic fluid painting.

At present the human figure captivates my attention and is the primary subject of my drawings. While capturing the beauty of the diverse flesh we occupy is important to me, I find treasure in using the outer human figure to reflect the inner human mind.

When engaging with a piece that reflects back to us a form of ourselves experiencing a pure and honest emotion, a certain intimacy and connection forms.

Vision

Sometimes art is created with meaning. Sometimes you find meaning within the creation

Big things are heading my way - our way if you care to join me.

Back Rolls Are Beautiful

Future Stars Exhibition - The Holy Art

London and Athens

The title makes you say it, affirm it. A love letter to myself and to all who share in the experience and appreciation of carefully sculpted curves adorning some of our bodies. Art often defies conventional beauty, our bodies are not exception.

Beholding A Dream

Surrender. Awe. Discovery.

The immersive and mesmerizing experience of admiring an untamed, uncaught dream - the natural form of our subconscious. A state of play, a mode of communication, an outlet of creativity, an author of stories, a painter of new worlds, a provoker of emotion.

Life's Leash

Art on a Loop - The Holy Art

Paris and Amsterdam

Life's Leash captures the daily human attempt to capture life itself. There is ample rhetoric describing life as something to grab, contain, or hold onto. Any notion that life is an entity to possess is an illusion. We must relinquish our conditioned desire to have control and instead embrace life's experiences. Recognizing that life is neither good nor bad but simply is, we can find comfort in our true untethered nature.

Terms & Conditions

Agreement or at a minimum acceptance. Be it a deal with the devil or a commitment in love, there is always fine print to the vows we make - regardless of whether or not we read them. Like flames traveling, the passing of a promise from one to another is enveloping and a force with the power to create new life or destroy all in its path.
